Makers

The shop carries Odie's Oil and Ecopoxy — authorized dealer for both.

They're the two finishes and casting products used on every piece that

leaves here, which is the main reason they're stocked.

Odie's Oil is a plant-based finish that penetrates the wood instead of

sitting on top of it. Food-safe, solvent-free, easy to touch up at home

years later. One application carries most pieces a long way.

Ecopoxy runs in three pours for most projects. FlowCast SPR for thin

work up to 1" thick — charcuterie boards, trays, jewelry pieces. UVPoxy

for flood coats and thin layered pours up to 1/4". FlowCast for river

tables and anything 1/2" to 2" thick in a single pour. All three mix

cleanly if you measure, and anyone who can follow a bread recipe can

mix epoxy.

Stop in and see what's on the shelf. If there's a project in mind and

no clear answer on which product fits, bring a photo of what you're

building and we'll sort it out together.

FAQs

Q: What's the big deal about Odie's Oil versus regular finishes?

A: Think of Odie's Oil as the farm-to-table movement for wood finishes. It’s solvent-free, food-safe, and actually penetrates the wood instead of just sitting on top like your cousin at Thanksgiving dinner. One application can last years but can easily be touched up at home, if the need arises.

Q: Which EcoPoxy product should I choose for my project?

A:

  • FlowCast SPR: The appetizer of epoxies. Perfect for small projects up to 1" thick. Think charcuterie boards and jewelry trays.

  • UVPoxy: The lunch special. Great for thin pours (up to 1/4") and table top coats. It's like sunscreen for your wood - UV resistant and crystal clear.

  • FlowCast: The main course. Pour this bad boy up to 2" thick for those jaw-dropping river tables everyone's drooling over on social media.

Q: I'm new to epoxy - how hard is this stuff to use?

A: If you can bake cookies from a mix, you can handle epoxy. The ratios are clearly marked (2:1 or 1:1 depending on the product), and we include everything except your creative genius. Just remember: measure twice, mix once, and maybe don't wear your favorite shirt the first time you try it. And yes, we offer classes for the commitment-phobic.

Q: What's available for non-makers who just want something cool?

A: Not a woodworker yourself but love the craft or maybe you’re just getting started but not quite ready to wrap your creations up as a special gift? We've got ready-made items that'll make you look like a woodworking connoisseur. Our selection of trays, charcuterie boards, and bottle openers are perfect for gifting (or keeping - we won't judge). Each piece comes with its own unique story, perfect for those "Oh this? It's artisanal" moments.

Q: How do I maintain these finished pieces?

A: Odie's Oil pieces better with age and only need occasional attention. For epoxy pieces - keep them clean, avoid extreme temperatures and sharp cutlery, and use a trivet between them and any hot plates, pots, or pans. We can provide care instructions with every product, upon request.

Q: Do you offer bulk pricing for makers?

A: For our regular epoxy addicts (you know who you are), we absolutely offer volume discounts. Whether you're a professional furniture maker or just really, really into river tables, let's talk about getting you the best price for your addiction... er, craft.
